Google Voice Mashup Chooses CallFireCallFire has announced that it has helped GeoGraffiti develop one of the “largest Voice Map communities in the world.” GeoGraffiti claims that it has over 10,000 users to date and that those users can listen and contribute to GeoGraffiti's Google (News - Alert) Maps mashup, containing thousands of geo-tagged, user-generated voice-bits, named “Voice Marks.” Will CallFire, GeoGraffiti is enabled with a rich VoiceXML platform capable of sending and receiving phone calls via Web service.
"The Android (News - Alert) app has become more popular than our iPhone app. We get more new users daily and a higher percentage of repeat users, from the Android community," says Adrian Rodriguez, GeoGraffiti's cofounder. Adrian further reveals, "The number of Voice Marks we get on a daily basis has increased three-fold since we have released GeoGraffiti for the Android operating system."
Adrian continues, "Since we released the mobile version of GeoGraffiti, users have been contributing more frequently to our Voice Map. It has also made it a whole lot easier for other GeoGraffiti users to find geo-specific content, like great restaurants, funny voice marks, and new social hangouts."
Vijesh Mehta, CallFire's CTO states, "I'm very happy to see the GeoGraffiti community flourish. This growth not only speaks to GeoGraffiti's usability, but also to CallFire's ability to provide highly complex VoIP connectivity through web services. By managing CallFire's VoIP platform closely, we can ensure high call quality and scalability. Most importantly, this allows GeoGraffiti's team to focus on content and growth."
